In life, transitions are a time of “unknowns.” But in a speech, transitions are the time to let the audience know exactly what they’re getting into. So many times, speakers fail to take their crowds from point A to point B in a clear and concise manner.

Instead, the audience is left scratching their heads wondering when the introduction ended and the speech began.

In this lesson, we’re going to learn how to guide your audience into the core of your speech by creating a “call to adventure.”

Hopefully, you can see that “The Call to Adventure” is not as mystical as it sounds. It’s a simple explanation as to why the content should matter to the audience.

The easiest way to make this transition is to briefly introduce the topic, explain why you value the topic and convince the audience that they should too.

Learning Reinforcements

Want to earn your audience’s time and attention? Your speech has to start with power.
